PERC co-director Trisia Farrelly will be the supervisor of a fully-funded 2022 Masters scholarship (stipend and fees) generously offered by ESR.

ESR is New Zealand’s Crown Research Institute specializing in science relating to people and communities. Our world-class knowledge, research and laboratory services help our partners and clients solve complex problems and protect people in New Zealand and around the world.

The scholarship sits within the AIM2 (Aotearoa Impacts and Mitigation of Microplastics) research programme. AIM2 is an MBIE-funded national research programme examining the impacts of microplastic pollution on Aotearoa New Zealand’s bio heritage and ecosystem services. The research project will survey international and New Zealand policy and legislation related to toxic chemicals associated with plastic food and beverage packaging. An additional supervisor/s will be determined once a suitable candidate has been selected.

While priority will be given to Massey University students enrolled in a Masters in Environmental Management in 2022, applicants with degrees in the following disciplines and programmes are also encouraged to apply: Environmental Policy; Public Health, Environmental Anthropology, Environmental Sociology, and Environmental Studies.

Please email A/Prof Farrelly for more information: T.Farrelly@massey.ac.nz. If you are interested in applying, please send academic CV and cover letter, and include your undergraduate degree and the 2022 Masters programme you are currently enrolled in.

Applications close 31st March. The successful applicant will be notified in the first week of April.
