The Massey University School of People, Environment, and Planning extend an invite to a webinar by Erica Dawson this Thursday afternoon: “The SDGs and the High Seas: Experiences of an Olympic sailor/ MSDG student.”
Erica is a 2 time Olympian and New Zealand representative sailor. She recently won a bronze medal alongside her team mate Micah Wilkinson in the Nacra 17 class at the Paris 2024 Olympics. She was also a member of the Emirates Team New Zealand Women’s team in the first ever Women’s Americas Cup in Barcelona last year.
As someone who seen the human impact on the oceans around the world, she developed a passion for sustainability and protecting the environment. Erica has been studying part time by distance towards her Masters of SDGs alongside her sailing for the last few years. She hopes to finish her Masters this year and get some experience working in sustainability.
In this seminar she will speak of her sailing experiences and how these have shaped, and continue to shape, her commitment to protecting oceans and marine ecosystems.
Thursday 20th March 2-3pm
3rd Floor Social Science Tower, SST 3.07 Manawatū Campus, Massey University
This seminar will be accessible via Zoom: https://massey.zoom.us/j/3377201046
