Alice co-organised PERC&#8217;s &#8216;Extraction&#8217; and &#8216;Emotional Political Ecology&#8217; conferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She holds a PhD in Development Sociology from Cornell University in the United States. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her research addresses land rights, agricultural production, and gender concerns to understand people&#8217;s changing relationships with land and water from a feminist political ecology perspective. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recent projects include research on \u2018land grabs\u2019 and redistributive land reform in Cambodia, cross-border migration of smallholder farmers in the Mekong Delta, gendered agrarian transformation and the right to food, and mapping cultural change in dam-affected communities along the Mekong river. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her new book,\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cornellpress.cornell.edu\/book\/9781501754043\/unwritten-rule\/\">Unwritten Rule<\/a><\/em>\u00a0(Cornell Press, 2021) examines land politics as a lens through which to understand the larger nature of democracy in Cambodia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Selected publications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Chann, S., <strong>Beban, A<\/strong>., Flaim, A., Gorman, T., &amp; Vouch, LL.
